MEET. has been thought as an experience of integration, exchange, exhibition and experimental collaborative production. It emerges from the need to generate independent and ephemeral exhibition possibilities that facilitate the meeting, considering it as a starting point to contribute to the development of the creative industries of Argentina and with the purpose of promoting artistic hybridization.
MEET. results from the collective collition and has as objective to visualize the modes of production of the creative actors from our region and aims to open the dialogue between them.
MEET has the particularity of being perceived as a platform that highlights distinctiveness and simultaneity, involving an idea of nomadism. It encourages an asymmetric, off-center reading, without prefigured path or protagonism competition. It is an assemblage of ideas, displaceable, disassemblable and transformable breaking with the idea of totality and coherence.
MEET. is a place of dialogue and exchange. Give nomadism to ideas, promoting the confluence between creatives, in favor of experimentation. We hope that it will become a true interdisciplinary meeting point that will enhance the new challenges imposed on us by contemporary art.
MEET. MIAMI ART BASEL #TAKEOVER
The exhibition gather 16 young emerging artists from Argentina, with more than 50 artwork pieces on display with works that include diverse techniques such as painting, photography, installation, video art, illustration and textile intervention, demonstrating the diversity of languages that characterize the artists of our region. The plurality of techniques enriches the experience and strengthens the idea of interdisciplinarity.
the exhibition
every December, Miami and Miami Beach are the center of the art world and host more than 20 art fairs, 1,200 galleries and thousands of artists. The annual cultural festival also attract thousands of art collectors and buyers, VIPs, art lovers and tourists from all over the world.
This is an opportunity for young emerging artists to show their work to the international artistic community, enabling the opening of new channels for the promotion of young talent in Argentina. With the curatorship of Celestine Bazán (Director of LECHE gallery) and the creative direction of Facundo Oviedo, MEET. is based on solid foundations built with more than ten years of experience in cultural management. Both are fervent supporters and advocates of emerging talent in the fields of visual arts, fashion, music, audiovisual and performance projects.
The purpose of MEET. is in establishing bridges, connections that allow to boost the careers of the young talents that our country has to offer. Our commitment to the creative community of Argentina is genuine and we seek to position ourselves as a platform that drives the local industry to the international market. With that objective, this will be our first international experience, with the intention of being able to repeat the format in the future and in other similar contexts.
